McAfee Internet Security is a comprehensive Web security option for Mac-users. Why Mac users need protection.Mac users are not vulnerable to the same viruses and threats that have traditionally plagued PCs but the Internet has leveled the playing field. It offers a full suite of Mac security tools, at the same price competitors charge for basic antivirus protection. Norton 360 Deluxe (for Mac) is also a suite, and its features include a no-limits. Follow the steps below to configure preferences in your McAfee security software, such as LiveSafe or Total Protection, for Mac. Click the McAfee M icon on your menu bar, at the top of the screen.; Select (product name) Console.For example, McAfee LiveSafe Console. Click the gear icon at the top right to see the preferences in the Mac Security menu. CenturyLink Security by McAfee is available to all qualifying CenturyLink residential High-Speed Internet subscribers and is available to download and install on your compatible PC, Mac, iOS, and Android devices. If you choose not to download and install McAfee to your PC, your PC will no longer be protected when the Norton product you are.

The following are instructions designed to guide you through removing the Enterprise edition of McAfee Endpoint Security from self-managed, university-owned machines running Mac OS only.

Mcafee Internet Security For Mac

  1. In the upper right corner of your screen, click the Spotlight Search icon in the menu bar. Type Terminal and press Enter to launch a Terminal window.
  2. In the Terminal window, type 'sudo su' and press Enter. Enter your computer's administrator password.
  3. In the Terminal window, type '/usr/local/McAfee/uninstall EPM3' and press Enter.
    Note: 'EPM3' refers to the product version. If EPM3 doesn't work, try EPM, EPM1, and/or EPM2 for earlier versions. If these do not work, try EPM4, EPM5, etc. until the command runs succesfully.
  4. In the Terminal window, type 'sudo /Library/McAfee/cma/scripts/uninstall.sh' andpress Enter. Enter your computer's administrator password.
  5. Fully reboot the computer.
  6. After rebooting, follow step 1 again to launch a Terminal window.
  7. In the Terminal window, type each of the following commands, pressing Enter after each:
    1. 'cd /usr/local/'
    2. 'rm -rf McAfee/'
    3. 'cd /Library/LaunchDaemons/'
    4. 'rm -rf com.mcafee.*'
    5. 'cd /Library/LaunchAgents/'
    6. 'rm -rf com.mcafee.*'
    7. 'cd /Library/Preferences/'
    8. 'rm -rf com.mcafee.*'
  8. Fully reboot the computer.
